Founder & Vice President of Corporate Development

Michael Armistead co-founded Fortify Software in 2003 with a conviction that information security and software development could work together in unison to secure applications at the source from common threats to the data they contain. With an extensive career in development tools and various leadership roles, Mike is a driving force of the overall strategy and has been instrumental in the aggressive market penetration of Fortify to date. His tenor at Fortify has spanned several leadership functions, including go-to-market strategy and execution roles. Most recently Mike's leadership has broadened Fortify's global reach by forging strategic relationships with Wipro and HP.

As a co-founder of Fortify, Mike's unique insight brings a balanced focus on strategic alliances and partnerships to the enterprise which ultimately compliment Fortify's solution set and delivery channels and continually broaden the value to Fortify customers.

Spanning two decades of industry leadership in the software security application development and Internet arenas, Mike held executive and key product creation positions at companies that include Hewlett-Packard, Pure Atria (IBM Rational), and Lycos. While Vice President and General Manager at Lycos, he led development and data center teams in the Financial, Directory and Web-based Email services.

Both Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees in Management Science & Engineering were conferred on Mike from Stanford University.
