Jim Yares leads Fortify’s field operations for the Americas region including sales and services.  Bringing sales and professional services together under a single operating unit helps Fortify provide the comprehensive solutions customers need to achieve their software security goals.

Jim Yares came to Fortify with a conviction that successful transformation requires attention to people, technology and process and that successful technology companies must offer their customers a solution that addresses all of these aspects. He came to this point of view through his unique background in both enterprise software and management/technology consulting. His passion and expertise met Fortify at a key inflection point when Fortify's customers were increasingly calling on it to help them transform their approach to software security and implement a comprehensive security initiative throughout their organizations.

Jim was instrumental in expanding the capabilities and expertise of Fortify's Global Services business unit and in building Framework*SSA - Fortify's methodology and toolset for achieving Software Security Assurance. Since then, Jim's leadership has been the game-changer in delivering SSA to commercial and government enterprises globally.  Additionally, Fortify was placed in the leadership position in the Gartner 2009 Magic Quadrant due in part to Fortify's vision for SSA and the Global Services unit's proven ability to help its customers achieve it around the world.

Jim joined Fortify with a 20 year progressive track record of leadership roles in leading technology and consulting organizations. Prior to Fortify, Jim led sales and business development for Bearingpoint's $400M Commercial Services unit. He also re-built the firm's High Technology Industry Practice. Prior to Bearingpoint (formerly KPMG Consulting), Jim held sales leadership and key contributor roles at Vantive Corporation and Hewlett Packard.

Jim graduated from the University of West Florida - College of Business with a BS degree.
