Senior Systems Administrator

To support our continued growth, we're looking for a flexible and enthusiastic Senior Systems Administrator to primarily focus on maintaining our Software-as-a-Service platform to meet our required SLA's, as well as participate in projects and provide as-needed assistance for our cutting-edge infrastructure, built of best-of-breed technologies. Additionally the role will assist our R&D organization to meet their technology requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily be responsible for maintaining our Software-as-a-Service platform.
  • Assist with managing our VMware Lab Manager environments
  • Assist in responding to requests from our R&D teams with new system deployments, upgrading existing systems, and troubleshooting any issues that arise
  • Maintain and ensure backups for our SaaS platform
  • Prioritize issues using the IT Ticket Tracking system
  • Document procedures and How-To's relating to our SaaS platform and R&D systems
  • Maintain and monitor the SaaS datacenter and R&D Lab
  • Be responsible for responding to out-of-hours emergency calls on a set rotation
  • Must be able to work in both a team environment and alone with minimal supervision

Qualifications

  • Strong skills implementing, using and maintaining the following:
    • Linux-based systems (primarily OpenSuSE, RHES, OEL and SLES)
    • Datacenter Operations monitoring tools (such as Nagios)
    • Java application servers (such as Tomcat), including deploying applications
    • Web servers (such as Apache HTTPD)
    • Security/network monitoring tools, such as NTOP, Snort, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting a corporate server environment in a hands-on capacity
  • Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit internal customers in their locations
  • The ability to lift/carry/ move weights up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend and kneel within small quarters.
  • Good hand & eye coordination as well as arm, hand and finger dexterity
  • The ability to grasp small objects
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Occasionally be able to work outside of normal business hours as required
  • US Citizenship required

Additional Qualifications (not required, but considered a bonus)

  • Experience working in a SaaS operations environment
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or other related field
